About Bishop Eddie D. Thompson

Bishop Eddie D. Thompson, Sr., born in September 1970 to Larry and Ida Thompson, is a lifelong resident of Kansas City whose life reflects a steadfast commitment to faith, family, and service. With a heart devoted to God and His people, Bishop Thompson has faithfully answered the call to ministry through leadership, teaching, and spiritual guidance.

Educated in the Kansas City, Kansas public school system, he attended Fairfax Elementary School, Central Middle School, and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1989. He further pursued his divine calling at Western Bible College, earning an Associate of Arts in Biblical Interpretation and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education.

Bishop Thompson serves with wisdom, humility, and a deep understanding of God’s Word. In addition to ministry, he is a professional truck driver, embodying diligence and integrity in every aspect of his life. In his personal time, he enjoys fishing, finding peace and reflection in God’s creation.

About First Lady Angela Thompson

First Lady Angela M. Thompson, born in October 1966 to James and Justine Cross, is a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas. She attended Fairfax Elementary School, Eisenhower Middle School, and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1985.

A woman of strength, grace, and unwavering faith, First Lady Angela served faithfully in the workforce for many years, including her time at the Overland Park Convention Center and as an Assistant Manager at Simply Fashion until her retirement in 2004.

She is known as a powerful prayer warrior, devoted to intercession and spiritual covering for her family, church, and community. Her nurturing spirit and steadfast faith continue to impact lives both inside and beyond the church.

Together, they exemplify servant leadership, guiding the ministry with a heart for people and a passion for spiritual growth.

Family & Legacy

Bishop and First Lady Thompson are the proud parents of five children and the loving grandparents of a growing legacy of grandchildren. Their commitment to family reflects their belief that strong homes build strong ministries.

Their lives stand as a testimony of faith, perseverance, and generational impact.

Bishop Thompson's vision for the Holy Temple of Prayer is to be a beacon of hope and a center for spiritual nourishment in Kansas City, Kansas. He believes in fostering a strong sense of community, where current and previous members can stay connected and share in God's good news.

Bishop Thompson’s life and ministry are anchored in the truth of Scripture, particularly as expressed in 1 Peter 5:2–3: “Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.” This passage reflects his heart as a shepherd, leading with humility, compassion, and a genuine love for God’s people.
